Factors to be considered for bearing external sealing

Bearings are a kind of commonly used mechanical hardware products. Good bearings need to have excellent sealing performance during use. At present, bearing seals can be divided into two types: self-sealing and external sealing. Generally, self-sealing is relatively simple. The cost is also relatively low, and the additional sealing performance device of the bearing is to manufacture a sealing device with various performances inside the end cover, etc., if the external sealing performance is better, then some factors need to be considered in the sealing process.

The factors that need to be considered for bearing external sealing are:

1. Bearing lubricants and types (grease and lubricating oil);

2. The working environment of the bearing and the size of the space occupied;

3. Advantages of shaft supporting structure, allowing angle deviation;

4. The circumferential speed of the sealing surface;

5. The working temperature of the bearing;

6. Manufacturing cost.

According to the requirements of the bearing working condition and working environment for the degree of sealing, various sealing forms are often used in engineering design to achieve better sealing effect.
